Partnerships for Success is a program of the University of Maine at Farmington that provides college access and readiness to young people in three school districts located in West Central Maine. We are currently partnered with Maine School Administrative Districts (MSAD) 21 and 43 and the Jay School System, through the generosity of a Department of Education GEAR UP partnerships grant and at the Dirigo High School through the generosity of the Nellie Mae Educational Foundation

We have been the recipient of an AT&T/NCCEP grant for science, math and technology to supplement our work with the 6th and7th graders in our partner school districts to increase knowledge in these subject areas.

In addition to our financial grantors, we are partnered with many community organizations to provide training, education, and support to our students, families and school districts. With a paid staff of six people, and many student tutors, mentors and volunteers, plus the invaluable input from faculty at both the public school and university level, the GEAR UP and Nellie Mae programs are making huge strides towards helping students reach their goals in attaining a higher education.
